When Should You Hire a Roofer?
Your house’s roof generally isn’t at the forefront of your mind. If you’ve got a bit of money set aside for house renovations, there are probably interior changes you want to make, or perhaps you think it’s time to repaint your house’s siding. However, the last thing you want is to need emergency roof work done because you neglected to hire a roofer earlier.
Ask the Expert
When hiring a roofing contractor, it’s best to rely on his expert opinion. If a storm might have caused damage, contact a roofer immediately. Otherwise, while new roofs might need an inspection only once every five years, older roofs require inspection more often because they’re more likely to wear down. It depends on the material of your roof as well, and whether or not you spot any missing shingles, leaks or other indications that you might need a new roof. Plus, a roofer has the equipment and training to safely spot any potential problems you might not have noticed from the ground.
Since the best roofers offer free estimates, there’s no reason not to hire one if it’s been a while since you’ve last had your roof inspected or if you otherwise suspect there’s an issue. Schedule your inspection today.
